San Diego, CA, April 1, 2016 - San Diego Self Storage facilities span San Diego County from Oceanside to Otay Mesa. The organization wanted to find a way for all 17 locations to develop meaningful ties to their local communities. Each site was given $500 to contribute to any organization they see fit. The staff collectively decides and organizes a meeting with their chosen organization. In 2015, numerous children’s organizations and pet-friendly charities were the most popular beneficiaries.
Butterfield Ranch Self Storage representatives chose to support the Temecula Youth Baseball (TYB) Champions League. The teams are specifically formed to cater to children with any mental or physical disabilities. Storage Consultant, Cristhian Gironas said, “The generosity shown by our company has really turned a lot of heads in the community. The donation will be helping the league to purchase more baseballs some helmets and bats. Their hope is that by showing that a local business supports the Champions league, more parents want to sign their kids up for the league.”
Managers Mark & Angela Jordan were happy to provide the donation to the TYB Champions League because they have been proud of Cristhian’s personal involvement as a coach. Cristhian said, “My personal experience with the league started four years ago when the league was just starting, and it impacted my life in a very positive manner. The kids playing there have so much fun and that is the goal - not the score of the game but the smiles that are on their faces while they play. I loved coaching before but this league made me a better coach and person. Coaching and helping out those champions taught me more than I taught them. That’s the reason why this donation was so special. We impacted the lives of many children and their families, who all thanked me while I was there and took many pictures as well.”
