The team at Carlsbad Self Storage (CSS) is proud to provide their charitable gift to the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation. This non-profit organization was formed in 1990 by Carlsbad citizens hoping to promote the Agua Hedionda Lagoon in a global context. The foundation’s mission is to preserve Agua Hedionda Lagoon as an accessible and healthy watershed and therefore have it be available to educate and inspire its visitors. 

The CSS staff chose the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation because it is a local nonprofit aiming to preserve our local natural resources. With today’s deforestation rate of 18.7 million acres per year, preserving Agua Hedionda, a 400-acre lagoon with a wide array of flora and fauna, is crucial.
 
The CSS donation will go to preserving the lagoon, the discovery center, and their day-to-day program needs including garden and trail maintenance, as well as animal care for the species inhabiting the discovery center.
