San Diego, CA, July 8, 2016 - In 2015, San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) began a community project, whereby all 17 locations across San Diego County contributed to a local organization of the staff’s choosing. The Community Giving Project continues in 2016 with a generous donation from Encinitas Self Storage (ESS).
Encinitas Self Storage was invited to the Ocean Knoll Elementary School awards ceremony, where the $500 check was presented to Principal, Jennifer Bond. The Ocean Knoll Farm is a Green Ribbon Schools, award-winning program. It is used as a growing space for the school lunch program and as an outdoor classroom. Students work in the garden during school hours and also during special project time. They learn different recipes, how to eat healthy and how these foods nurture their bodies. The farm provides children in the Encinitas Union School District a healthy lunch. The produce grown has served over 6000 students. The ESS staff appreciated this education and focus on nutrition, and so chose to make their contribution to the Ocean Knoll Elementary School. The school was very excited to receive the special gift.
