Once again this year, San Diego Self Storage will partner with San Diego Food Bank for a food drive in May. This year, there will be two opportunities for our employees, customers and friends to participate. Like last year, you’ll have the chance to bring your canned food and items to your nearest San Diego Self Storage facility. All of our locations will serve as drop-off sites. You will also be able to donate through the virtual grocery store.
Hunger is a problem that many of us do not see, yet it affects people all around us. About 15% of San Diego County’s population face “food insecurity” which means that little to no food is available at home, and often they will not know how they will get their next meal. Most often, hunger affects children. Seniors are also facing a hunger epidemic, as outlined in this article The Facts Behind Senior Hunger.
We are eager to partner with the San Diego Food Bank again this year, and look forward to your help in support of this worthy cause. We will send more information closer to the launch of the food drive. We wanted to give you plenty of notice so that we can all work together to make a meaningful contribution in 2018. Thank you, in advance, for whatever amount you can give.
