San Diego Self Storage Kicks Off 2016 Community Project With Two Donations
San Diego, CA, March 4 2016 - San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) and all 17 locations across San Diego County have kick started the Community Project 2016, carrying on a tradition which began last year, of giving back to San Diego. San Diego Self Storage facilities span San Diego County from Oceanside to Otay Mesa. SDSS management wanted to find a way for all 17 locations to develop meaningful ties to the local communities. Each site was given $500, which they may contribute to any organization they see fit. The staff collectively decides and organizes a meeting with their chosen organization. In 2015, numerous children’s organizations and pet-friendly charities were the most popular beneficiaries. If these first two donations of 2016 are an indication, it seems that trend may continue.
Smart Self Storage of Eastlake, once again chose to split their offerings and give to both the Second Chance Dog Rescue and the South Bay Family YMCA. In an email about the Second Chance donation, Smart Self Storage of Eastlake Manager, Dawn wrote, “On Wednesday, Feb 24th, Sarah with Second Chance Dog Rescue came by after picking up her newest rescue dog from the Chula Vista shelter. The dog was so new she didn’t even have a name, just a serial number, but the dog was perfectly behaved as she posed for pictures with us. Sarah was delighted to receive the company’s donation of $250, along with my donation of a 30lb bag of dog food and a box of Milk Bones which were both, unfortunately, hidden behind the giant check!” The South Bay Family YMCA received a visit from Storage Consultant, Julian, on March 1st, who delivered the donation. The staff expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support local causes in their community with a meaningful contribution.
