Thanks to our customers, neighbors, team members, and community partners, San Diego Self Storage has been voted Best Storage Facility in the San Diego Union-Tribune's 2026 Best of San Diego Readers Poll, marking our 12th consecutive win.
Twelve years is a milestone we're incredibly proud of. Since our first win in 2015, San Diegans have continued to choose SDSS year after year, and we don't take that trust for granted.
12 Years of San Diego's Support
Earlier this year, we called our 2026 campaign "Chapter 12." We started with the nomination phase, advanced to the Best of San Diego 2026 voting phase, and now we finally get to write the ending.
We won!
The San Diego Union-Tribune's Best of San Diego Readers Poll celebrates businesses throughout the region based on votes from the people who live, work, shop, and spend time here.
That's what makes this recognition particularly meaningful to us. It's an award that comes from the same community we've been proud to serve since 1972.
More Than Storage
Over the years, SDSS has grown alongside the communities we serve throughout San Diego County and Southern California. But to us, being part of a community means doing more than simply operating a business there.
It's why our teams continue to support organizations doing important work throughout our region.
We've partnered with the San Diego Blood Bank to support local blood drives and help encourage lifesaving donations throughout Southern California. We've collected food for the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and toys for the San Diego County Toys for Tots, helping support local families during times when our community needs it most.
Our community efforts also include supporting cancer research through Curebound and sponsoring rescue dogs in training with Shelter to Soldier, an organization that rescues shelter dogs and prepares them for lives of service and companionship.
We've also been fortunate to support local nonprofits in other ways, including providing complimentary storage space to organizations such as Doors of Change so they can put more of their resources toward the communities they serve.
Those relationships are a big part of what community means to us.
The People Behind the Win
Of course, 12 consecutive wins wouldn't happen without the people inside our facilities every day.
Our teams are the ones welcoming new customers, answering questions, maintaining our properties, solving problems, and getting to know the neighborhoods they serve. Our customers are the ones who continue trusting us with everything from household belongings and business inventory to the things that simply need a place during life's transitions.
To everyone who nominated us, voted for us, recommended one of our facilities, left a review, referred a friend, or simply chose SDSS when you needed storage, thank you.
This win belongs to our entire community.
Here's to Chapter 12
San Diego Self Storage has been serving Southern California since 1972, but reaching our 12th consecutive Best of San Diego win gives us another reason to celebrate how far we've come.
More importantly, it gives us another reason to keep earning that recognition.
We'll continue working to provide clean, reliable storage, knowledgeable local teams, and the kind of neighborhood service that has kept customers coming back year after year.
And we'll continue showing up for the communities around us, supporting local organizations, celebrating the people doing good throughout our region, and finding new ways to give back.
Thank you, San Diego, for voting San Diego Self Storage Best Storage Facility of 2026. Here's to Chapter 12!
