Our Olivenhain Self Storage team chose Urban Surf 4 Kids for their 2022 charity gift.
Urban Surf 4 Kids is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for healing and empowerment for children and young adults through surf therapy.
They have been in operation for over 14 years, and are notorious for providing children and young adults a safe place to land. This organization fights against discrimination, criticism, harassment, and any emotional or physical harm. This program also promotes goal-setting, mentorship, and giving back through a wide range of programs that they offer.
One of the youth's favorite programs is the Dreaming of Aloha. This program offers an all-expenses-paid, week-long trip to Oahu for youth members who complete a six-month program comprised of mandatory life skills. Once they complete all of their courses, they will be invited to Oahu to experience a week filled with non-stop outdoor adventures, exposure to professional athletes from all around the world, and an immersive Hawaiian culture experience.
Craig Jenkins, President of the Board of Directors said " We understand that consistency and showing-up are the biggest things we can do to support our youth. Our Ohana does just that, whether it's in our Hanai mentoring groups, at our surf therapy camps, or in any of the other programs and special projects we manage. Our Ohana provides invaluable resources to our youth, consistency, and most importantly, a sense of family".
