Toys for Tots: Increased Need & Safe Ways to Donate During Pandemic
San Diego Self Storage is proud to continue our 20+ year partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program! The need for relief is expected to remain extremely high in light of the lingering effects of the global pandemic. It has never been more important to safely and compassionately give to our neighbors in need.
Given the current situation, San Diego Self Storage is excited to offer five creative solutions for safely donating new, unwrapped toys and books to this wonderful cause while maintaining social distance! We will be accepting donations from November 15th until December 15th, 2021.
Our partners within the Toys for Tots organization would like you to know that they are most often short on supply of gifts appropriate for children ages 7-10. We invite you to keep those children in mind specifically.
OPTION #1 – Drive-Up Toy Drop
We have partnered with a local Walmart to offer a convenient drive-up option for donations. This event will be held on Saturday, December 4th and Sunday, December 5th at 4840 Shawline St, San Diego, CA 92111. Please look for the San Diego Self Storage canopy and moving truck in the parking lot from 11am-5pm.
OPTION #2 – Use One of our Registries
Take the guesswork out of finding the perfect toys by using one of the San Diego Self Storage Toys for Tots Registries. Simply click one of the registry links below to order and have your donation of new, unwrapped toys or books shipped directly to us. You will also have the option to send a gift card instead if you choose. Save yourself a trip, stay socially distant, and make a special holiday memory for a local child in need.
OPTION #3 – Ship a Toy Directly to Us
If you prefer to make your own toy selections, you can still save yourself that trip and ship your donation of new, unwrapped toys or books directly to us. Please use this exact shipping address to ensure your charitable gift is received:
Toys for Tots
10531 Sorrento Valley Rd.
San Diego, CA 92121
(Packages not addressed specifically to the Toy Drive may be returned to sender.)
OPTION #4 – Make a Monetary Donation
If you would like to make a monetary contribution, make your check out to “Marine Toys for Tots Foundation” and mail or drop it off at one of our 18 official collection sites. Click HERE to view a list of our 18 locations.
Cash will not be accepted. Checks not made out to “Marine Toys for Tots Foundation” will be returned to the sender.
OPTION #5 – Drop Off In Person
Finally, we offer the traditional method of donating. You may bring any new, unwrapped toys or books to one of our 18 official collection sites throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties.
Collection receptacles will be placed at each office entrance, away from employees for distancing purposes. Only one visitor is permitted in the office at a time. Click HERE to view a list of our 18 locations and their hours of operation.
We would like to thank our contributing partners for supporting this worthy cause to help make this a safe and successful year for local children in need.
